MIRANDA AND LIV’S WAR OF THE ROSES CAST.

Sophia Myles as Elizabeth Woodville.

“The most beautiful woman in the Island of Britain…[with] heavy-lidded eyes like those of a dragon.”

- Jane Bingham, The Cotswolds: A Cultural History

The beautiful Lancastrian widow who caught the eye of Yorkist king Edward IV and was catapulted into a world of high stakes and political intrigue when he made her his Queen. Subject to slander all her life as the daughter of a mere knight (even if she was descended from Burgundian royalty on her mother’s side), Elizabeth Woodville went to great lengths to see her children inherit their father’s crown. After the mysterious disappearance of her two young sons from the Tower of London, Woodville allied with Henry Tudor to see her daughter as the future Queen of England. Sure enough, Princess Elizabeth of York not only ascended to the throne as Queen Consort but also founded, alongside her husband, one of England’s greatest ruling dynasties.
